Hi, I’m Kirsten! An illustrator, writer and creative.  

I currently live in Virginia with my husband, our two children, and our dachshund.  I have a degree in Studio & Digital Arts with a minor in Psychology and am constantly trying to learn and improve my craft in any way that I can.

My love of art began at a young age and I’ve been creating in some way ever since.  I can remember lying in bed at night with a pad and pencil, sketching when I was supposed to be sleeping or doodling on napkins or drawing in the condensation on the car windows.  As an adult, I busy myself creatively with writing stories and plays, painting with acrylic on canvas and digital illustration.

For me, creating is more than just pen to paper or pencil to iPad.  Creating lines and shapes that suddenly birth a new character or a scene is exciting. A once blank canvas now contains a new ‘life’ that has something to tell the world. A once blank page is now filled with words that take us back in time to places we know or to places that are new – for adventure and even learning. I want the stories, illustrations and art that I create to invoke emotion and feeling and bring to life the story behind the image.

As a child, I was an avid reader and spent many summers going to the library and bringing home new worlds to discover and to see through the imagination of other illustrators and authors. Being able to create that now is my passion.
